The Good Food Institute Europe is a welcome addition to the Eating Better alliance at this critical juncture, bringing its interest in alternatives such as plant-based protein and cell based meat.

The GFIE works with scientists, businesses and policymakers to build a more sustainable, healthy and just food system by transforming meat production and advancing plant-based and cultivated meat, eggs, dairy and seafood.

Richard Parr, MBE, Managing Director at the GFIE said:

“We are delighted to be joining forces with so many fantastic organisations in the Eating Better alliance. The deciding factors for what most people eat are taste, price and convenience. That’s why we see plant-based and cultivated meat as fundamental to the shift towards the better food system we all want to see. We’re looking forward to working with new allies to realise our common goal of creating a more sustainable, healthy and just food system.”

Simon Billing, Executive Director at Eating Better said:

“It’s great to welcome the Good Food Institute Europe to the alliance.  GFIE are at the hub of a community of entrepreneurs and scientists seeking to replace the worst forms of intensive animal agriculture.

“In our report “We need to talk about chicken” we found that plant-based alternatives are growing rapidly and are likely to replace the misery of factory farmed birds. GFIE is doing great work across Europe to accelerate that transition.”
